“I’m on the back deck.” That’s where she spends most of her time, she and Sienna, both of their noses in a book or eating some kind of snack I’ve left for them in the fridge. Not much has changed when it comes to us having Sienna, well, more Berkley than me after school now. Even though Tanner and Melody had a small wedding, all of us work in the afternoon and for Sienna’s breaks, except Berkley. We didn’t even have to ask her, she just stepped in and said, “Si will stay with me. I mean, she’ll have to stay after school for an hour, but other than that, I’ll just bring her home with me while you all work.” Berkley and I did finally confess to each other that we’d eventually have children, but we both wanted to wait. We want the house paid off in half the amount of time, even if that means we don’t have furniture in each and every room yet. Something that I know will happen once Berkley’s parents and cousins come to town.

“There you are.” The one thing she asked for the minute we moved in was a porch swing, so that’s what she got, and it’s where she’s currently sitting. A book in her lap, my sweatshirt and sweatpants dwarfing her small frame. She doesn’t care though. A closet full of clothes, and Berkley wears mine.

  “Whatcha got?”

“I figure since we’re staying in for the evening, the drinks can come to us.” I sit down beside her. She puts her book on the outdoor coffee table.

“I love you,” Berkley says without pause.

“I love you too. Are you okay?”

“Oh yeah, it’s just, you know, six months ago, I was barely working, living with my parents, then moving, and living with Aspen. Now here we are. I’m so totally in love with you, and we have our own home. I couldn’t be happier.” I chuckle. It wasn’t long ago that I was in a rut of my own—work, hang out with Si, sleep, and repeat. It wasn’t the best way to live, but it worked at the time.

“I know what you mean. You think by spring, we’ll have a dining room table?” I ask her.

“Oh, about that. There’s a reason I haven’t even looked. There’s something you said about taking the one from the restaurant.” Heat flashes in her eyes.

“Hm, but what will I use when we’re there? Maybe we go and find one that fits in here and use it in the exact same way.” My voice is full of innuendo as I think about how many times that table in the kitchen has been used.

“You’ll have to go with me, you know, to make sure it’s the right height.” Berkley winks. I laugh because she’s not wrong.

“We’ll do that this week. No offense, but I’m tired of eating at the bar or in the living room. Plus, Sienna, that girl is a hurricane.” I shake my head. The other day, I came home from work and Si had crackers and cheese every which way. Berkley just shook her head, saying she’d clean it up later and to let her be a kid.

“Can you imagine what our kids will be like at that age? I think you’re going to have to invest in not only food, but some type of self-cleaning tool for the couch.” I love that we’re both on the same page. It’s in the future though, the very far future.

“By the time that comes around, we’ll probably already have one. How was your day?” Melody and I took the night off, leaving the restaurant to Nancy and Dan. Thankfully, he stepped up and hasn’t fucked up in a long-ass time. I still had to go in and do a couple of things, including grabbing some champagne on the way home.

“It was good. Cleaned the house. Set up a few more pieces of furniture that are slowly coming in. How’s the restaurant?”

“Running smoothly. I think Mel and I may go down to working four days a week, and alternate at that. I’m tired of coming home and you’re already asleep, not being able to eat dinner with you.” It’s definitely getting to be that time. I already popped the cork for the champagne in the house. I pour the bubbly liquid into the flutes while I grab the ring that’s been burning a hole in my pocket for over a month now.

When we were in Virginia, I talked to her parents, showed them the ring, and received their blessing. There hasn’t been the one perfect opportunity, until tonight.

“You know what we’re going to do tonight?” Berkley asks.

  “What’s that?”

“Drunken-naked sex.” She’s already sipping on champagne.

“What about drunken-naked, we’re-getting-married sex instead?” I say by way of proposing. She stops from taking another sip of her champagne. Her hand is visibly shaking. I take her glass and place both of them down. I probably should have gotten down on one knee to propose, but I’m not the traditional type of guy, and I’m damn sure not asking. There’s no way I’ll take no for an answer.

“Yes!” Her arms go up and around my neck, not giving two shits about the ring I just put on her finger as her lips find mine. I take her mouth. Nothing about this is slow and sweet. My need for her is too overwhelming right now. When I slip my tongue inside of her mouth, that’s when she climbs onto my lap, causing the swing to jostle enough to almost knock us off it.

“God, I love you.” I pull back.

“I love you too, Ryder.” Our foreheads meet, and her hands land on my shoulders when she notices the ring.

“Jesus Christ, Ryder. It’s beautiful.” Berkley’s voice and face carry a look of shock.

“It was my grandmother’s. It’s not perfect, but it means something to me.”

“It’s perfect to me. But what about Melody? Wouldn’t she want it?” My girl, always thinking about someone else besides herself.

“She has the band. It’s a show-stopper too.” Berkley has a single marquis diamond sitting on a gold band.

“I can’t believe we’re getting married. And we are so having drunken-naked, we’re-getting-married sex too!” She stands up, starts stripping, and walks towards the door.

“Bring the champagne. We definitely have something to celebrate.” Berkley is down to her panties and nothing else. Had I known she wasn’t wearing much underneath her borrowed clothes, they would have been long gone.

“Fuck yes, we are.” I strip my own clothes off, grab the bottle, and follow my future wife. Tonight, neither of us will be getting any sleep. My only thought will be seeing her wear nothing but my ring on her finger until we’re forced to get out of bed for food, and even that’s questionable.

  Berkley

Six and a Half Years Later

“Oh my god, you have demon sperm. Literally the spawn of Satan. How am I supposed to go six more weeks like this? If that’s even the case. I’ve heard people have morning, noon, and night sickness all throughout their pregnancy.” I’m bitching, mainly because we’re pulled over the side of the road for what seems like the eighth time, and it’s barely two o’clock in the afternoon.

“Sugar, I’m pretty sure your mom said she had the same trouble when she was pregnant with you. It’s part of the reason you’re an only child, remember?” Ryder jokes. Go figure. We finally started trying, which by the way took little effort after I didn’t take my last depo shot, and BAM! There I was, pregnant. He’s not wrong though. Mom told me plenty of times that the pain and the aggravation all go away once your baby is in your arms, but before that, she was miserable, through her whole pregnancy. The only reason they didn’t have more children after me wasn’t because of the morning sickness issue. Mom was put on bedrest with me at thirty weeks. They couldn’t control her blood pressure even though she didn’t have any issues before, then that nice little thing called preeclampsia settled in. The doctor advised it could happen again after I was born. Dad said enough was enough, went and got the snip-snip. I don’t blame either of them. If I hear a hint of bedrest being tossed around, Ryder and I will do the exact same thing.

“We must be having a boy, then, because even Mom said this is worse than hers. She just had it in the morning. This shit goes on all day.” It’s the dead of summer, and we knew this would be our last chance to spend our yearly vacation where we rent a small RV, one you can drive. On the rare occurrences, Ryder even lets me drive. Not this time though. We’re making our way t
o Virginia, and at the rate we’re going this time, we’ll never make it.

“Not gonna argue there. It could be, but if we have a girl, I’ll be happy too. You want some sprite?” he offers. I thank my lucky stars daily that I have Ryder. He doesn’t have to be out here, holding my hair back in a loose ponytail or rubbing my back while I’m heaving out what little breakfast I was able to eat. Yet he is.

“I’ll get some when we go back inside. I might just lie on the couch while you drive. I’m sorry. I won’t be a very fun passenger this time.”

“As long as you feel better, I don’t give a goddamn, but I won’t lie. Not having to listen to your crazy music is a plus,” he jokes. Ryder talks a big game, but he sings every eighties song that I turn on.

“Yeah, sure. I think I’m okay now.” Ryder helps me back up into our RV, and I have to say, if Aspen were here, she would be in heaven with how she’d decorate this place. It’s still has all of the seventies’ vibes, except I’m pretty sure everything is original.

“Here, saltines and your sprite. Small sips and small bites.” Thankfully, he’s not trying to get me to eat anything ginger related. We tried all different kinds of things, but ginger by far was the worst thing to ever try.

“Thanks, you can drive. I promise I’ll be okay.” My eyes are already closing, even if it is to ward off the nausea.

“I think we’ll stay here in town tonight, let you rest and try again tomorrow. We’ll still make it to Virginia in time for your parents’ anniversary.” I don’t bother arguing because I know he won’t change his mind, and honestly, I kind of just want to lie in bed, hear the hum of the air conditioner, and feel his warmth beneath my body.

“I’m good with that,” I murmur.

“Shit, I know you’re tired when you’re agreeable. It’ll take us about ten minutes to get to the campground. You okay with that?”

“Ryder, I’m good with anything as long as you’re with me.” He kisses my forehead, climbs up in the driver’s seat, starts the RV, and we’re moving. I place my arm over my forehead and listen to the tires traveling down the road, lulling me to sleep.

I must have been asleep longer than I thought because when I come to, Ryder’s carrying me in his arms, a not-so-easy task in our confined space.

“Hi.” My throat is dry, causing my voice to crack.

“Hey, sugar, have a good nap?”

“The best, though waking up in your arms is probably why. Let me down, please?”. Ryder nods his head, though he holds on to my hip the entire time, not letting me go in case I’m not steady on my feet. Once I’m good, he lets me go.

“You feel better? You’ve got your color back in your cheeks,” he states with a smirk.

“I’m more than good.” My fingers find the string that holds my halter dress at the back of my neck. He reads my intent before I do anything. That tongue of his darts out, licking his lips, and I know our afternoon, and evening, is about to get much better. I pull the string, and my dress falls down in a pile at my feet. I’m standing before Ryder wearing nothing but a pair of dark navy lace panties. I still maintain my waxing appointments, and we both reap the benefits of it. Even when Ryder has those occasional late nights at the restaurant, he’ll wake me up with his tongue buried inside me, or sometimes, when I’m up before him, I return the favor until he’s clenching my hair in his fist and coming down my throat. Today, though, I just want to feel him inside, slow burn and all.

“Goddamn, Berkley. Look at you, barely pregnant, but I can see the way your nipples are darker, your breasts larger, more sensitive than ever before. How fucking wet you are for me, greedier than ever. I bet I could slide right inside you, couldn’t I?” He’s ripping his shirt off, unbuttoning his pants, knowing he’s ready to get inside me. I do what he loves so much, making a huge display of climbing onto the bed, showing him just how wet I am. When I make it to the center of the bed, I press my upper body down. My hand goes between my thighs, working myself to a heated frenzy already. Ryder isn’t wrong. There’s no foreplay necessary, but I know by the way he growls that he’ll still put his mouth on me.

“Ryder,” I moan when I feel his hands spread my ass cheeks apart, feeling the slight stubble of his jaw as he does exactly what I thought he would.

“Keep rubbing your clit, sugar,” Ryder demands. His tongue slides inside of me, mimicking what his cock would do.

“Please, don’t tease me. I want you inside me,” I groan.

“Who’s teasing whom?” He lifts up. I steady myself on my elbows, watching as he works his thick length in his hand. This time, it’s me licking my lips, wanting to taste him.

“Oh no, you don’t. You can’t have it all, Berkley. Choose one and do it now, or I’ll paint this ass of yours with my cum.”

“Inside me, now.” I arch my back, move my body to back into him. My body is practically pleading with him to slide inside me.

“Yeah, you do.” He lines his cock up to my center and thrusts inside in one fluid stroke. My pussy is already tightening on his dick, quivering with need.

“Already?” he asks, but he knows the answer. He continues to thrust through my orgasm, my mouth meeting the pillow as I orgasm. He doesn’t stop though. Ryder keeps going, building up another mind-blowing sensation inside me when his hand sneaks around my waist, his finger strumming my clit, and I’m already there again.

“I’m telling you, it’s this pregnancy.” I thrust my body back towards Ryder. He pulls me up, his hands filling with my breasts that are so sensitive I swear a breeze could blow by them and I’d get off.

“Then maybe I’ll keep you barefoot and pregnant. Love coming home to you every day, every night. I can’t wait to come home to the both of you.” His length hits something inside me as I feel the first jet of come paint my insides, causing me to fall over the edge again. Ryder’s body is still plastered to mine, his hands not moving from my breasts and fingers still toying with my nipples.

“You keep that up, and I’ll want you again.” I tighten the muscles of my pussy on him. He shivers in response but slowly pulls out of my body.

“I’ll take you again, but I know that just worked up an appetite. What are you and the nugget in the mood for?” I fall into the bed, not worrying about the mess running down between my legs. I’ll clean it up later. “Hmm, chicken Alfredo? Do we have everything for that?”

“Considering you ask for it almost every other night, I keep it all stocked up. You lie here a bit. I’ll clean up, get some food ready for you, and wake you up. Love you, Berkley Price.” He leans down to kiss my lips. I savor the flavor of him, my tongue sneaking out to get that taste.

“I love you, Ryder Price.” I pull away with a yawn. He smiles, nods his head, and I’m being pulled under with a smile on my face and my heart full of love.
